Creatively Conflicted

Creative people have to deal with the monsters in their mind. We are conflicted......we argue with ourselves and usually do nothing but create mental scrambled eggs in our heads. Time usually sorts things out, but we create a lot of confusion in the meantime. Round and round and round we go and where we land nobody knows.

The Fast Company Leadership Now website has an interesting post on the 10 Paradoxical Traits Of Creative People. Faisal Hoque has some interesting points for the creatively conflicted. A interesting read. 10 Paradoxical Traits Of Creative People

Sign From Mars

This sign has marked the way from Illinois to Milwaukee for many years. It's so circa 1950's type design is what makes it. The store building has changed but the sign remains the same. A true cheddar curtain icon.

Vivian Maier

Sometimes photography surfaces from the most unique places. Vivian Maier was a nanny by profession but her secret passion was photography. Her photography has been hidden for years until it surfaced when someone bought the negatives and was gobsmacked by what he unearthed. The images are unbelievable street photography and her story is fascinating. You can find more about her and her photography at these websites: http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2013/11/26/vivian-maier-self-portraits-book/  and also http://www.vivianmaier.com/
