We get to soon old and too late smart.

The Delicate Dance
Photographers have always in some way manipulated images, but the question is to what degree. Dodge, burn in, some form of correction. The question is to what level and where does it cross the line especially in photojournalism. Ben Long has great and thoughtful blog post on that topic and is worth the read. The post "All Photographs Are Manipulated" is on the Creative Pro site.
