Ode to the Blackwing 602
While thumbing through a past issue of The Hollywood Reporter (it's a fun read) I came across an article about a Hollywood obsession for a pencil. It seems that a certain pencil, the Blackwing 602, was the pencil of choice for screenwriters, animators composers and illustrators. No longer made, this pencil seems to be The Holy Grail for some. Though no longer made a knock-off of the original is now made, the Palomino Blackwing 602.
Creatives have always had their lucky charms or muses, it seems for some, it was the Blackwing 602. For a fun read I recommend you go to The Hollywood Reporter site and read this well written article Why Is Hollywood Obsessed With This Pencil.
