Quote Du Jour
Often while traveling with a camera we arrive just as the sun slips over the horizon of a moment, too late to expose film, only time enough to expose our hearts. -Minor White Mirrors, messages, manifestations by Minor White

Muse on the Loose
Actor Jeff Bridges is one of the very few actors that really has a full set of muses working for him. His photography is still old school using black and white film and shot with a Widelux panoramic camera. Much of his images are shot on film sets giving you a peak on what goes on from an actors perspective. His website is about as free form as you can get and is fun to look at. The dudes got one creative edge.

Artistic Freedom Has A Price in China
Creativity and political dissidence is not a good combination in China. It seems with all that is going on in the world, China seems to think art and free speech is not a good thing and that's why artist and poet Ai WeiWei seems to be missing. The stories are conflicting, but it seems he was detained by authorities and his whereabouts seem to be unknown at this time. This is nothing new for China, the iron fist of the Communists still rules with absolute authority. The guardian.co.uk has a good article as well as the New York Times. His detention comes amid a wider crackdown on activists and dissidents in China. This is a story that is catching the attention of the world. The question is can the world exert enough pressure on China to free and release him. Only time will tell. The New Yorker has an excellent profile of Ai WeiWei and is worth the read.

Who is A.D. Coleman and Why is He Saying Those Things About Me
Many moon ago there was a magazine called Camera 35. Once and a while the magazine ran articles by a photography critic by the name of A.D. Coleman. The first article where I found out about Mr. Coleman was titled "Who is A.D. Coleman and Why is He Saying Those Things About Me". He is an excellent observer of photography and whether you agreed with him or not....he made you think about photography and images. You can follow him at his website ADColeman.com. He's worth the look!
